Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Who do you work with?
I work with individuals, couples, and relationships who are queer, trans, nonbinary, gender expansive, neurodivergent (including ADHD and autism), and/or navigating nontraditional paths in life, love, or identity. My practice is rooted in supporting people who’ve felt "othered" by systems or traditional models of care.

What issues can I bring to therapy?
You’re welcome to bring anything that’s on your mind or in your body. Common themes include anxiety, burnout, masking, identity exploration, trauma (including complex and developmental trauma), gender transition support, relationship dynamics, grief, and surviving oppressive systems. You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to start therapy.

What is your approach?
My work is non-carceral, non-pathologizing, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming. I approach therapy as a collaborative space where we can explore how your lived experience intersects with systems like white supremacy, ableism, transphobia, and capitalism—without reducing you to a label or checklist. I integrate relational and parts-based work (like IFS), and adapt sessions to your communication and processing style.

Do you work with neurodivergent clients?
Yes. I welcome clients who are autistic, have ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent—including folks who self-identify, are questioning, or haven’t had formal diagnoses. I aim to co-create a space that feels accessible and respectful of your sensory, cognitive, and emotional needs.

Do you offer therapy for couples or relationships?
Yes! I work with queer, trans, polyamorous, and kinky relationships of all configurations. I support partners in navigating communication, attachment, conflict, transitions, and growth, while honoring each person's autonomy and identities.

What kind of environment do you create?
My space—whether virtual or in-person—is designed to be affirming, flexible, and collaborative. That might mean stimming during sessions, using visual supports, skipping small talk, or creating rituals for grounding. You don’t need to perform or explain your identity here.

Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
I see clients both online and in person at my office near Union Station in DC. I strive to make therapy accessible and will work with you to meet your sensory, communication, and scheduling needs.

Do you take insurance?
I am currently not in-network with insurance. I can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan covers that. If insurance feels overwhelming or inaccessible, I’m happy to walk you through options.

What is your fee? Do you offer sliding scale?
My standard fee is $185 per session for individuals, and $225 for couples. I reserve sliding scale spots for those who need it, particularly for BIPOC, trans, and disabled clients. Please reach out to ask about availability—no need to justify your worthiness.

How do I get started?
You can contact me to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. This is a low-pressure call/video to ask questions, get a feel for each other, and talk about what you’re hoping for in therapy.

Is therapy confidential?
Yes—your privacy is taken seriously. I follow all legal and ethical standards around confidentiality.
